Coolwave in 2023: Partners, Growth and New Opportunities

The last 12 months were very successful for our business, and with 2023 off to a great start, we are ready to cement our plans into place for taking Coolwave to the next level.

As always, the voice and messaging market has continued to grow and evolve, particularly in cloud communications with Anything as a Service (XaaS) solutions including Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS), Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS) and Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS), booming.

Whether we’re streaming Netflix, FaceTiming friends or conducting collaborative virtual meetings on UC platforms such as Microsoft Teams, the world is now more cloud-centric than ever in both our personal and professional lives.

Behind the scenes, businesses need the solutions and capabilities to keep up with this “always-on” world. Coolwave is playing a vital role in taking all kinds of businesses to the cloud and beyond, on a truly global scale.

I’m very proud of the continued devotion of our entire team to support our customers and partners in this new era of communications. 2022 was full of new partnerships, growth and opportunities, and we’re ready to scale even further in 2023.

2022 Highlights

We formed some great partnerships throughout the year, including automating cloud telephony for global UCaaS platforms with Callroute and Voxnube. The partnership enables customers to automate voice services across UCaaS and CCaaS platforms including Microsoft Teams, Webex and more, with a Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) model.

Coolwave also joined Telin’s NeuTrafiX connectivity marketplace. The partnership added our inventory of numbers to the NeuTrafiX Wholesale Voice, SMS and Virtual Numbers trading platform, expanding the database for users from East to West, and helping to extend our reach globally.

Throughout the year, we were fortunate enough to be finalists in the CC-Global Awards, Comms National Awards and Global Carrier Awards, as well as attending industry events across the world including Capacity Middle East, ITW, GCCM Berlin, Capacity Europe, AfricaCom and Capacity Asia to name a few.

Thanks to considerably growing our partner ecosystem, we saw our success surge in the unified communications (UC) space in 2022. We’re combining our own expertise in all things communications with the unique specialities of our partners, to provide best-of-breed solutions for our customers. This has also extended our reach closer to the end user and helped to secure more exciting opportunities for our business.

Not only that, but we put a significant amount of time and resources into expanding our global network with new geographies. We added a huge number of new destinations to our 2-way voice coverage, with particular focus on adding new direct routes in APAC and Africa. Our 2-way voice enabled numbers now operate in over 70 countries worldwide.

Priorities in 2023

We built a solid foundation in 2022, and in 2023 we will use that foundation to accelerate our growth further.

  • More Partners – Partners are the key to growth. This year, we’ll be adding even more partners to our ecosystem to boost our success further. Whether they are partners adding new services and capabilities to our business for customers, or channel partners reselling our services, we see this as a huge opportunity to extend our reach and help a wider pool of businesses across continents.

  • More Events – Industry events will continue to play a big role in our 2023 calendar. They provide a great opportunity to meet our customers, partners and new faces in-person, and really get a feel for what’s going on across different industry subsectors. As well as the key flagship events we attend each year, we’ll be attending a larger number of unified communications and “as-a-service” events to align with our continued focus on cloud communications.

  • More Support – Internally, we’ll be expanding our team across the next 12 months to match our rate of growth. We’re keen to provide even better support to our customers as we grow as a business, so adding new members to our teams across departments is a priority for us. There will be more people to support our customers across every stage of their journey with Coolwave.

  • More Solutions – As we strive to further improve customer experiences with Coolwave, we’ll be looking at what services we can add to our portfolio to add value. Solutions we’re considering include contact centre software, more intelligent routing, disaster recovery, and even network security. We are getting closer to the enterprise with our expanding partner ecosystem, which is resulting in new demands and new opportunities to extend our capabilities even further.

  • More Opportunities – We see a huge opportunity in cloud communications, BYOC, XaaS, 2-way voice and A2P SMS, so we will continue to put a lot of time, effort and resources into growing in these areas. The PSTN switch-off in the UK and across Europe is coming around fast, with PSTN service sales being phased out in the UK this year, before the complete switch off in 2025. This will also provide additional opportunities for us to help more businesses make the switch from PSTN to VoIP via SIP trunks.

  • More Growth – Overall, all of these priorities will help us to accelerate Coolwave’s growth and provide even better services to our customers. As the market continues to move at a rapid pace, we have the speed and agility to adapt our solutions and meet new demands, no matter the challenge. We’re keen to bring our solutions and expertise to even more markets and businesses across the globe.

In a Year’s Time

This time next year, I want Coolwave to be the go-to provider for more businesses than ever before. Whether that’s for number hosting, 2-way voice and messaging services, A2P SMS, BYOC for XaaS solutions, or one of our many other services, we have the capabilities to help all kinds of businesses in this new era of communications.

We will continue to see growth month on month and year on year, with the global network, partner ecosystem, and underlying skills, expertise and solutions set to take voice and messaging to new heights for our customers.

We’ve got the foundation, strategy and skill set to do bigger and better things in 2023 and beyond.

There’s never been a more exciting time to be part of Coolwave.
